Erin Caffrey was born February 3rd, 1984 in Orlando, Florida to Dan and Pam Vierling.  A 2002 graduate of Boone High School, she also attended local schools: Bay Meadows ES and Southwest MS.  Erin grew up with her younger sister Emily in the Dr. Phillips area of Orlando.  Erin played both soccer and basketball as a youth, but her passion and love of basketball took sole priority upon attending Boone!

Erin’s relentless dedication and competitive drive led to many accomplishments during her playing career at Boone.  Erin was a 4-year varsity player from 1998 – 2002 in which she led the Lady Braves to three State Final 4 appearances, earning the State All-Tournament Team in 2001 and posting a double-double against future WNBA player Sylvia Fowles.  As team captain, Erin led her team in scoring during her Jr and Sr years and achieved All-County, All-Metro, All-Central Florida, and All-State honors within those same seasons.  In addition, Erin finished her career at Boone with a new school record of 80% free throws made, and numerous mentions in the Orlando Sentinel as a key player to watch in Central Florida.  Simultaneously, Erin played AAU competitive basketball on a team who won 5 straight state championships. Erin earned academic and athletic scholarships to the University of West Florida (2002 – 2006) where her stellar play flourished and ended with her eventual induction into UWF’s Hall of Fame in 2014.

Erin continues to live and work in Orlando as both a 1st grade teacher and high school varsity girls’ basketball coach.  She is married to her husband of 5 years: Cearan, and has twin daughters Addie and Olivia who will be 3 in August.
