Linda was born in Charleston, WVA but spent most of her school years in Sarasota, Florida. She received a BA degree in elementary education from the University of Florida in 1970 and a master’s degree from Rollins College in 1976. She began her teaching career in Orlando in 1973 and has taught students in all grades from 1st to 12th. She came to Boone as a math teacher in 1997 and retired in 2012.
In addition to teaching math, Linda was an assistant to several athletic directors including Bill Lowry, Mike Dube, and Doug Patterson. Her duties included verification and submission of athletic eligibility to the state for all students participating in sports, inventorying and tracking ticket sales for all sports, and supervising sports activities several nights a week. She became a member of the Hall of Fame committee in 2000 and has done a variety of jobs in planning our annual event.
Linda is also a long time resident of the Conway area and has been married to her husband Ken for 45 years. She has two adult children – Tim (1989 Boone graduate) and Diane (1995 Boone graduate). Both of her children were Boone athletes.
Now that she is retired she enjoys reading, cruising, and attending athletic events. She is an avid Atlanta Braves fan, a Gator Booster, and of course is Forever Brave.
