Eric Faber was born on January 23rd 1983 in Orlando, FL to Randy & Barbara Faber. A 2001 graduate of Boone High School, he also graduated elementary and middle school from King of Kings Lutheran Church in Maitland, FL. Eric spent most of his life in the Conway area playing sports year-round. As a youth, Eric’s passion was playing basketball alongside his twin brother, Austin Faber, which seemed to be a year-round commitment for their parents.
Eric was a 3-year starter on varsity. During his senior year, he was the leading scorer at 13.5 points per game and leading assists at 6.5 per game on a very balanced offensive team. He was Captain of the 2000-2001 6A State Runner-up Champion that also still holds the best record in Boone’s 67-year-old history at 32-3. During his Senior Year, Eric accepted a full athletic scholarship to Division 2 Rollins College. Below are some of his accolades:
-2001 First Team All-state 6A, First Team All-County and First Team All-District
-2-Time Orlando Sentinel Player of the Month: December 2000 and March 2001
-2001 First Team Academic All-State
-2000-2001 Florida Dairy Farmers Scholar Athlete of the Year
-Chosen as 1 of 12 players to represent Florida in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game.
Quote provided by his Varsity Coach Mark Rickman who he still remains very close with today – “After coaching basketball for 30 years and winning over 400 games, I’ve come to the conclusion that Eric Faber was the best leader that I was blessed to coach. Eric was not only a coach on the floor, but a strong voice in the locker room and in the hallways. His work ethic, tenacity, and the confidence that he played with inspired others to do their best. He would not accept losing and was willing to sacrifice personal stats to help the team win.”
Eric currently lives and works in Orlando, FL. He is a Financial Advisor with Ferrell Wealth Management in Winter Park, FL. Eric is married to Jenna Faber (employee at Boone High School) and they have 2 beautiful children, Channing (5-year-old daughter) and Banks (1-year-old son). He spends most of his spare time with his family and on the golf course.
