William R. Boone High School opened in 1952.  Named for the distinguished principal of Orlando High School, Boone enjoys a history as rich as the City Beautiful itself.

The Boone High School Sports Hall of Fame was the conception of long-time Boone High School Athletic Director Bill Lowry.  In 1998, following discussions between Wayne Rickman, Ivan Repass and others, Lowry’s dream of a Boone Sports Hall of Fame came to fruition. The first Hall of Fame awards banquet took place in 1998 with nine athletes, five coaches and one contributor honored by Hall of Fame induction.

The Boone High School Hall of Fame showcases the great individuals and achievements of the past. To date more than 175 athletes, coaches, and boosters have been inducted.

Each year, the Hall of Fame Committee will select a class of inductees based on the current nominations. The class will then be inducted at a ceremony and awards banquet in May at the Orlando Country Club.

Sports represented by the Hall of Fame are Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Diving, Football, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track, Volleyball and Wrestling.
